- Liberty Mutual Datajam competition winner
Serina Brenner graduated from UNH in May of 2017 with a B.S. in Business Administration with an Information Systems option. Among the multitude of skills acquired, data management is a specialty, as is the creation of data visualizations using Power BI. Additionally, she has extensive training with advanced data manipulation using Microsoft Excel and various ancillary plug-ins available to the program. In 2017, Serina won the Liberty Mutual Datajam competition in which teams of four were allotted four hours to analyze data in order to answer a question. The extensive dataset consisted of encoded census information spanning nearly 400 columns. Having been told her winning work exceeded expectations, she was encouraged to further her education in the field. As such, she is now near completion of her M.S. in Data Analytics at UNH, expected in May of 2018. She has been trained to use programming languages such as Python and R in order to work with data in different ways from data cleaning to predictive modeling. Having had a keen interest in data visualization, she is now an expert at displaying complex datasets as an understandable workbook of information. Serina is available for any opportunities in data science that will best utilize her visualization skills.
Serina has been instrumental in working on the B.A.S.E. Fatalty Entry Form and History of B.A.S.E Fatalities Data Dashboard with Dan.
